We start animal, confusion in our minds
We lay under the stars, we can’t enjoy it
We want to sleep behind the doors, behind the walls, behind our fears
Is there more to life beyond the signs?

Oh where have we been?
Our kids are like kids in the dark
In the night, are we saved?

Desire clouds the mind even more, we are stuck
Between who we were and organization
Did we grow past the animal or did we cover up?
We can hide under the roof, we’re still controlled

Can we move past the instincts to engage?
Do we listen to our fears, hide from others
On our own, in the brush?

We peer between the leaves, to see the light on Earth
We can look into its eyes and find value
We hide all our tears and we stay in our shelters
We don’t confront our fears or risk communion

One day the walls will fall down
